INTRODUCING CONTOUR BALUSTERS
Hourglass Curves Create Deck Rails
That Get More than a Glance.
ORLANDO – Jan. 11, 2006 -- When it comes to introducing exciting
new products for outdoor living environments, no one leads their
category quite like Deckorators, which will introduce its new Scenic
Contour balusters for decks, porches and rails at the 2006
International Builders Show.
The Contour line extends the company’s highly successful Scenic
Series of glass balusters which was introduced in January 2005. The
Contour baluster features an hourglass shape that has not been
offered in the deck building products arena until now.
“Consumers are ready for an option that by sheer shape gets your
heart racing. Our new Contour balusters are curvaceous and alluring,
and they create a sophisticated environment that really enhances
deck and spa areas,” said Kelly Jones, president of Deckorators.
Deckorators’ Contour balusters are perfect for starry nights and
mood lighting, and the hourglass shape is five inches at its widest
and three at its thinnest.
The baluster’s are made of tempered glass that is 5/16” thick and
are available in two tints: Clear and Autumn.
The Contour balusters install easily on either straight runs or
stairs with just four screws and are made with corrosive resistant
fittings that are ideal for humid or salt air environments. Like all
Deckorator’s products, the balusters work with any type of wood, as
well as composite decking materials.
“We’ve been very pleased with the acceptance of our original
Scenic Series glass balusters by the building community. They’ve
been particularly popular for the vacation and coastal home market
segments, since they are perfect for any environment where views may
be obstructed by more traditional decking materials,” Jones says.
The Contour baluster is expected to also be popular for
commercial applications, such as restaurants and other public spaces
where decks or patios are part of an establishment’s ambiance.
Builders have benefited in the last few years from homeowners’
desires to create inviting outdoor living spaces, and the
Deckorators products have experienced tremendous sales growth with
their growing lines of baluster products.
Deckorators Scenic Series balusters have quickly become one of
the company’s biggest sellers. In 2005 they were awarded both the
“Most Valuable Product” Award from Building Products Magazine and
“Product of the Year” from Shelter Magazine. The glass balusters are
also a candidate for “Best New Product of 2005,” a designation
awarded by Woman’s Day’s Special Interest Publications.
