Wallingford, Connecticut — August 22, 2007 — Tiger Claw Inc., of Bristol, Connecticut, will provide free training to local builders on the use of hidden deck fasteners. The training will be a part of The Home Depot Contractor Trade Show at the Wallingford Store, 1055 North Colony Road, in Wallingford, Connecticut, on Thursday, August 30, 2007.
“Tiger Claw continues to drive the hidden fastener market with its line of deck fastening systems as well as its custom design, development and manufacturing capabilities,” said Michele Skyles, Tiger Claw’s National Accounts Manager. “Our goal is to show builders how they can easily install hidden deck fasteners instead of traditional nails and screws, as well as teach them how to increase profit margins with every deck build.”
The patented Tiger Claw hidden deck fastener was invented in Connecticut in 1998 by Dave and Don Martel, both veteran Bristol contractors, and David Hartmann, a mechanical engineer.
Show organizers are expecting 300-500 contractors. The training will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. For more information regarding the show, builders may contact The Home Depot, in Wallingford, at 203-269-1211 or Tiger Claw at (800) 92-TIGER.
About Tiger Claw hidden deck fasteners
Tiger Claw’s patented fastener design has a simple “topside” installation. Constructed from hardened heavy gauge stainless steel that is compatible with new pressure treated coatings for lumber, these unique fasteners offer outstanding hold-down power for both wood and alternative decking materials such as composites and PVC. They create a smooth “nail-free” surface, which preserves the beauty of the wood and reduces splitting, splintering, cupping, and rotting.
Tiger Claw offers a complete line of innovative and versatile hidden deck fasteners. The TC-2 deck fastener is ideal for soft woods and pressure treated lumber. The TC-3 is used with composite decking materials such as Trex and Fiberon and medium density hardwoods such as Meranti and Cambera mahogany. The TC-4 is perfect for exotic hardwood decking lumber like Ipe and Teak. The TC-P is used with cellular PVC decking materials. The TC-G offers the fastest installation available today with pre-grooved decking or square edge boards using a router or biscuit joiner. With Tiger Claw, homeowners can have a better looking, longer lasting, and safer deck.
